About State of
Texas Department of Information Resources
The State of Texas
Department of Information Resources (DIR) provides statewide
leadership and oversight for management of government information
and communications technology. DIR has served in a leadership role
to facilitate the state’s economic competitiveness through its
ability to deliver quality information resources commodities and
services at the lowest prices and best value for state and local
government as well as the K-12 public and higher education
systems. The DIR
contracts awarded to technology vendors saves Texas taxpayer money
by leveraging the state’s volume-buying power to drive down costs
through a streamlined co-op purchasing program. In FY 2009 alone,
the program had over $1.3 billion in sales generating more than
$171 million in taxpayer savings.
CMA will be primarily providing products and
services from the Teradata Corporation. CMA has been a reseller of
Teradata in the US federal Government for the past two years. The
State of Texas contract will allow CMA to extend its access to one
of the fastest growing states.
